  • Access to a secure Wi-Fi network. Make sure you have the Wi-Fi network password handy.

Set up your TV with Google Cast

Google Cast is automatically turned on when you set up Android TV or Google TV devices. On other TVs that work with Cast, you can turn on the feature when you set up your TV or start casting.

The flows may vary across TV brands. Look for the option to turn on Cast:

  • In the initial TV setup flow.
    • For example, on Vizio, Cast is included in the Terms & Conditions page.
  • In the TV settings or dashboard.
    • For example, on LG, open the Home Hub and select the Google Cast button.
  • When you initiate a Cast session in an app.
    • Select the Google Cast iconInactive cast extension .
    • Select the TV in device picker.
    • Accept the Terms of Service when prompted on the TV screen.
