Extracting colours from images

Google Web Designer can generate a set of colour swatches based on an image. These exact colours may not be present within the image, but comprise a suggested palette that complements the image.

Only images with local sources are supported.

To extract colours from an image

Use one of the following methods:

  • Right-click the image and select Extract colours from image from the pop-up menu.
  • Select an image. On the Colour panel, select the Swatches button and click the Extract image colours button at the bottom of the panel.

The Colour panel displays the colour swatch palette with five new colour swatches added. You can use these colours like any other swatches.
